Students & Faculty Support Food Service Workers' Strike

Although the strike was led by employees Mary Smith and Elizabeth Brooks, students provided crucial support to the food workers’ strike through picketing and encouraging a Lenoir Hall boycott. This bulletin from March 1969 reminded students to advocate for the labor issues at stake: fair pay and better working conditions for the university’s lowest-paid employees in the wake of the administration’s slow and frustrating response to address these grievances.
