About this exhibition
On the Move: Stories of African American Migration and Mobility, curated by Adreonna Bennett, is an online version of a physical exhibition of that name that was presented at the Wilson Special Collections Library, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, from September 14, 2019 to March 12, 2020. The exhibition was organized to mark 400 years since the first enslaved Africans were brought by force to North America in 1619 and reflects on other examples of physical and social movement in African American communities over time.
