Published as part of Voyage pittoresque et archéologique dans la province d'Yucatan. . . , 1834–1836
This volume contains a portion of Waldeck's notes on his travels and research in Yucatán between 1834 and 1835. The double-page shown contains his list of place names, their pronunciation in French, their meanings, and their distances and directions from the capital, Mérida. In most instances, Waldeck was unable to translate the place names. Waldeck's 1838 publication Voyage pittoresque included this list as well as a Yucatec Maya vocabulary.
