Mérida: Domingo Canton, 1822
Learning the Mayan languages was essential for priests interested in evangelizing the indigenous population in Yucatán and other Maya regions. This rare Mérida imprint is a Yucatec translation of a Roman Catholic catechism written by the French priest Fleury. The translator, Ruz, published other religious works, as well as Gramática Yucateca (1844).
