Find More Stories and Oral Histories

The stories shared on the Queerolina map are excerpts from longer interviews conducted for the UNC Story Archive and the Southern Oral History Program. Both the Story Archive and the Southern Oral History Program are ongoing progams seeking to document and share personal stories from the UNC-Chapel Hill campus and across the American South.

UNC Story Archive

The UNC Story Archive is a new initiative in the University Archives in the Wilson Special Collections Library. The Story Archive enables students, alums, and other members of the Carolina community to share their stories on their own terms.

Southern Oral History Program

The Southern Oral History Program includes more than 6,000 oral histories, which are preserved in the Southern Historical Collection in Wilson Special Collections Library. The Southern Oral History Program has led several projects to document LGBTQIA+ life in the American South.
