Dear Citizens:

The Laura M. Towne Library, located in Frissell Community House Penn Center, with its long history of service on St. Helena and Lady’s Island citizens both children and adult is opened on a regular basis, Monday through Thursday hours 4:00-6:00 P.M.

Come and borrow books.

This library contains many volumes of books by and about “Black People.” We need to become familiar with our history and heritage.

This is an era of Black awareness. Black people everywhere are beginning to realize how proud we should be of ourselves.

We have accomplished much and there is much more to be done. Remember the library days and hours are: Monday through Thursday – 4:00-6:00 P.M.

We also have reference books for everyones’ use.

Sincerely,
Agnes C. Sherman [signature] (Mrs.) Agnes C. Sherman, Coordinator Cultural Program
