SUBJECT: PCBs
Dear Congressman Fountain:
We have recently made a 30 day study of what the news media (newspapers) have been saying about PCBs. This information was sent to us by a news clipping service that monitors 750 newspapers.
Inasmuch as all of the following statements have absolutely NO EVIDENCE to affirm, then the news media has shown that it reports as fact ALLEGATIONS, and has taken poetic license to describe PCBs in a most astounding manner.

If all this was true we should declare war on PCBs, forget Russia, Castro, Libya, etc., and absolutely expunge PCBs from America.
However, the only people really agitating for the removal of PCBs appears to be the news media and the FEAR, APPREHENSION and TERROR wrought up in the public by these false allegations.
The public should understand that their cost for removing PCBs will cost each individual in the United States over $30,000.00. Can we really afford to spend our time, efforts and wealth on a chemical that has never harmed any person in the entire world. There has never been a clinical report made by any hospital, clinic, doctor, toxicologist, etc., who have treated people exposed to PCBs that speaks to any symptoms, ailments or any effects at all. Why don't you have the EPA, EDF, Sierra Club, Ralph Nader, Friends of the Earth, Toby Moffet, Rep. Dingle Et Al produce evidence of the harmful effects of PCB rather than allegations or animal studies.
