Recruits for the Navy.

In Order to shew those young Men
of HONOR and SPIRIT,

Who are inclined to serve their KING
and COUNTRY,

In the Royal Navy of Great Britain,

    The Certainty of their POCKETS being lined,
as well as their COATS laced with GOLD, one
Third of their Bounty Money will be paid them down,
and the Remainder secured by the following Note
on a Stamp, according to Law.

             Huntington Bank, 17th April, 1795.

We promise to pay to the Order of
             Pounds               Shillings, being two Thirds
of his Bounty, as an inrolled Volunteer in His Majesty's Navy,
upon receiving the Certificate of his having been mustered on
Board any of His Majesty's Ships of War, on Account of the
Treasurer of the County of Huntingdon, Value received.

All VOLUNTEERS are desired to apply without Loss
of Time to Captain RICHARDS, of BRAMPTON; Lieutenant
FIFE, of the Royal Navy, at his Rendezvous at the Falcon
Inn, in HUNTINGDON; or to Serjeant INGREE, at the
Royal Oak, HUNTINGDON; and if approved, NO MONEY
SHALL PART THEM.

  489. A young student, shewing the Museum
at Oxford to a set of gentlemen and ladies, among
other things producing a rusty sword; "This,"
said he, " gentlemen is the sword with which
" Balaam was going to kill his ass." Upon
which, one of the company replied, that he thought
Balaam had no sword, but only wished for one.
" You are right," said the student, "and this is
" the very sword he wished for."

  459. A carpenter being at work at a gentle-
man's house, fell through the rafters from top to
bottom. When the gentleman was told of the ac-
cident, "Oh," says he, "I love to see a man go
cleverly through his work
."
