Unsavory Politics
The Morehead City Coaster carried last week in large type an article signed Colored Women’s Rights Association for Colored Women which purports to be an appeal to colored women to register for the coming election. This communication first appeared a week or so ago and has been commented on rather freely by the press. No name was signed to the article and nobody has been found who will acknowledge its authorship. Prominent colored people who have been interviewed say they know absolutely nothing about it and probably very few people, white or colored, think that it was gotten up by colored people. It bears all the earmarks of a Democratic trick akin to the famous Warren latter of unsavory memory.
